Wonderful Clouds/Dashing Clouds Turn Myriad Mountains into Poetry
Acrylic on Canvas 100x100cm 2013, Lee Sun-Don
Lee Sun-Don, with his characteristic Totemic Energy Oil Painting, was invited to hold a solo oil painting exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 2009, during when he created impromptu on site and developed a series called “Utmost” – using only two colors to craft an artwork’s multifaceted depths and rich textures, artwork manifesting ethereal, transcendental profundity. For this current exhibition, he presents his latest series, “Wonderful Attainment” – using his spiritual eye to capture the poetic aura of various world landscapes.
Floral Moon Duet/Grand Luck
Acrylic on Canvas 145x145cm 2013, Ma Sing Ling
Ma Sing Ling is an emerging artist trio composed of three young talents from Taiwan, MANIHOO, Singway and Ling Ling. Their artworks have been selected into several important contests such as those organized by the Royal West of England Academy and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. They fully take hold of challenges from the liquidity and free flow of the paints, to depict the rhythm and magnificence of nature. For this exhibition, we’ll present their “Form of Unity/Water Chants,” a series using painting to echo the Tang-Song poets’ literary description of water, and “Form of Unity/Brilliant Blue,” a series using color blue as its basic tone to illustrate the various facets of the mysterious and far-reaching horizons of mountains and rivers, with touches of gold clouds to brighten up the entire painting.
